Water-resistant vs. Waterproof

Unless otherwise noted, Gramm bags are highly water-resistant but not waterproof because they are sewn, not welded. To keep critical gear 100% dry, we recommend using an additional drybag.

Sewing enables innovative designs such as our Diamond Bag, and it is the only viable way to make custom Frame Bag. We take steps in design and manufacturing to minimize the risk of water ingress. We use waterproof fabrics with DWR coatings and techniques such as seam taping, floating liners, generous radii that prevent capillary action, smart seam placement, and more to minimize the chance of moisture getting inside.

This means our sewn bags resist showers and moderate rain for a while, which is plenty for most styles of riding. However, moisture may enter eventually, and our bags cannot be submerged. Keep these trade-offs in mind while using your classically sewn bag.
